Abstract:Pinctada martensii is the main shellfish for the artificial breeding of pearls in the coastal areas of southern China.At present，extensive research has been carried out on aquaculture，nucleus insertion，nutrient composition and biological activity.This paper reviewed the research progress on the nutrients，functional analysis and application of pearls，shells and shellfish of Pinctada martensii，provided a theoretical basis for further research and utilization of Pinctada martensii.
