中文摘要: 玉米黄质是一种在体内具有重要生物学功能的食品来源色素,它在预防老年性黄斑变性(AMD)中发挥了重要的作用。综述了玉米黄质作为类胡萝卜素所具有的重要生物功能,体内玉米黄质的生物合成途径以及分离提取玉米黄质的进展。
Abstract:Zeaxanthin is one such natural pigment emphasized for its critical role in the prevention of age-related macular degeneration(AMD),the leading cause of blindness.This paper highlights zeaxanthin as a carotenoid pigment with promising nutraceutical implications,and enumerates the important plant and microbial sources for its production,the absorptive pathway of zeaxanthin in human system and the progress of the separation and extraction of zeaxanthin.
