Abstract:Squalene is a polyunsaturated hydrocarbon that is widely distributed in nature，and also can be found in some common foods.Because of the strong bioactivity，squalene is widely used as a"bioactive ingredients"in functional foods.This article reviewed the health benefits and safety of squalene，and introduced squalene application in brief.
